Now that you have the go ahead to proceed with your rally programme, to help get the message out to as many members as possible, please can you place my message, below, prominent on your group website. Being prominent is key here to give our members every confidence that rallying again is as safe as can be, please therefore can you highlight on your home page this COVID related message. A flashing yellow ‘COVID update’ link would be ideal.
Also, I have had a few enquiries from groups concerning gatherings and the meaning of. Unfortunately the 30 persons rule which many of us have heard of does NOT, to the very best of mine and others interpretation, include campers gatherings. Government guidelines define Social Distancing of 30 persons only if necessary for work, volunteering or charitable services, education, childcare or training, elite sporting competition etc etc. Rally sites, (Temporary Campsites) are not to be treated as social gatherings, however socialising outdoors is permissible with up to 6 persons from different households. I hope this helps!
Hi fellow members
We are pleased to be able to inform you that our groups now have the go ahead to re arrange their programme of Temporary Campsites (TC), under cover of MCC’s Certificate of Exemption.
For all of ours and the wider public’s safety, group Committees have been advised of COVID 19 related safety measures which must be adhered to. Each TC will be subjected to, prior to your arrival, a full COVID related Risk Assessment.
The success of our TC’s will depend on us all to remain COVID aware. Putting together appropriate safety measures will have taken our Committees and Hosts much time and extra effort to make our stay as risk free as possible. Please stay safe.
Please note that for this ‘COVID’ exercise I found it best practice to rename our rallies as Temporary Campsites. This then brings our events into line with the Governments thinking behind the re opening of Campsites in general. Making ours ‘Temporary Campsites’ is better understood.
Thank you for your patience, please enjoy.
